Myesha Deadwyler and Mi'Lisa Patton Myesha Deadwyler and Mi'Lisa Patton On July 11-July 16, 2010, Myesha Deadwyler and Mi'Lisa Patton were among the 6,000 attendees at the recent 64th Boule celebration of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. held in St. Louis, MO.

These young ladies are students at Savannah State University and members of Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This trip was the first national sorority conference for both members who were initiated into the sorority November 2009.

For Myesha, the president of Gamma Upsilon and Mi'Lisa, the vice president of Gamma Upsilon, the experience was unforgettable. Both young ladies had the opportunity to meet members of the governing board of the sorority and to meet other undergraduate students from around the world.

They also had the opportunity firsthand to work with members campaigning for national offices. They served as hostesses for the Undergraduate Luncheon. They attended workshops on parliamentary procedures, sisterly relations and chapter operations.

Both students were excited to see other members from all over the world and to learn about the operations of the sorority.

It was a week filled with much learning for them and made them committed to bringing back what they learned from the conference and sharing it with the students of Savannah State University and the Savannah community.
