West Broad Street YMCA has New Look

The West Broad Street YMCA announced a new website today. The site was designed and donated by Systems Connect of Savannah to coordinate with rebranding campaign of YMCA of the USA.

“We knew that to be competitive and to reach folks in Savannah, we had to have strong web presence,” says Peter Doliber Executive Director. “And we were really anxious to have our site reflect the rebranding efforts of YUSA. But it just wasn’t in our budget.”

The need of the Y was met by Systems Connect, a web design and development firm located in Savannah. “We have been truly impressed by the work the West Broad Street YMCA has been doing over the past 18 months,” says Chuck St. Arnaud owner of Systems Connect. “We knew that we could help so we asked Peter if we could create a site for the Y.”

“We really needed to get the word out that this Y is back on track,” says Doliber. “We needed it to reflect our mission and values, as well as be current to the new logo design and emphasis of YUSA. Systems Connect was able to do this for us. They created an incredible site that we will be able to manage in real time. It looks great and is easy to navigate. They gave us thousands of dollars of services. We can’t thank them enough.”

The web site includes links to the services at the West Broad Street YMCA such as an early learning center, adult education, physical fitness, recreation, and advocacy, as well as information about its history.

The West Broad Street YMCA is one of seven Heritage Y’s remaining in the country. Founded by blacks during legalized segregation, it has an over 60 year history of service to the downtown Savannah community.

“Just as YUSA is rebranding, so are we,” Doliber offers. “We are Savannah’s downtown Y. We want people to know that it’s okay to cross MLK! We have a great facility but more importantly we are working to help the kids in our neighborhood grow up strong, healthy, and ready reach for greatness.”

The West Broad Street YMCA is located at 1110 May Street. Visit its web site at www.westbroadstreetymca. org or call 233 1951 for more information.
