Lt. Michael Wilson On June 18, 2010, two hundred sixty law enforcement officers graduated Friday from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. The 241st session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 49 states.

Included in the class are members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 25 international countries, four military organizations, and four federal civilian organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.

On average, these officers have 19 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive level positions.

Lt. Michael Wilson is a 23 year veteran who has served in the Public Affairs Department, as a Training Officer, Recruitment Supervisor, Traffic Investigations, Patrol, SWAT and on the Honor Guard.

Lt. Wilson now joins the list of department FBI National Academy graduates, which includes Chief Willie Lovett who graduated March 22, 1991. Lt. Wilson’s current assignment is downtown precinct sector commander.

Chief Lovett said “The FBI National Academy is one of the elite schools for police managers. This school prepares officers for the unusual contingency as well as for the everyday aspects of police work.”
