Safety Net Planning Council Receives Healthcare Georgia Foundation's Community Service Award

The Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council (CCSNPC) is one of only two community collaboratives in the state to receive the Joseph D. Greene Community Service Award from Healthcare Georgia Foundation.

Individuals and community organizations are chosen for their volunteer work and dedication to advancing health and healthcare across Georgia.

Money accompanying CCSNPC's award will be donated to the Savannah Volunteer Dental Clinic. The Clinic is part of the Safety Net collaborative and serves children ages 3 to 18 who do not currently have dental insurance and who meet certain eligibility guidelines.

“We are honored that the Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council has be named as a recipient of this prestigious award and pleased that, as a result, we can help further the mission of the Savannah Volunteer Dental Clinic,” said Dr. Paula Reynolds, Executive Director of CCSNPC.

In 2008, Healthcare Georgia Foundation dedicated its community service award program in honor of Joseph D. Greene, a founding Healthcare Georgia Foundation board member who went from working in the cotton fields of rural Georgia to becoming a revered public leader.
