Civil Rights Museum Holds An “Evening” to Remember
On Friday, May 21, The Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum presented “An Evening at the Museum.”
This exciting event afforded the community the opportunity to support the museum, and look good while doing it.
The black tie affair included a tour of the museum, and a silent auction. Those in attendance were entertained by a live band, and enjoyed some delicious local cuisine.
The board of directors also presented awards to community members who have made a difference. Shown above, Susan Catron of Savannah Morning News presents James Monroe Hall, retired educator with the Volunteer of the Decade Award as board members look on.
The Chairman’s Award was presented to Dr. Ron W. Bailey, instructor of African American History at Savannah State University.
Sonny Dixon of WTOC served as master of ceremony, and auctioneer.
