The 15th District LPN Association will host its annual Nurses' Appreciation at First African Baptist Church of East Savannah, 402 Treat Avenue, on Saturday, May 15,2010 at 3:00 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Gary N. Harvey. Dr. Harvey is a physician specializing in family medicine and has been in practice in the Savannah area since 1979. He began work as a staff physician at the Westside/Urban Health Center under the leadership of Mr. Curtis V. Cooper and continued hi£ employment there until early 2000's.

Dr. Harvey is a staff member of Memorial Health University Hospital and St. Joseph/Candler Health Systems. Dr. Harvey runs his private practice office em E. 67th Street and works part time at the Savannah Primary Care Center for the Veterans Administration outpatient center.

Dr. Harvey has recently retired from the Ga Air National Guard after serving the military for more than twenty-eight years. During his tenure he served as commander of the 165th Medical Group and also as the assistant State Air Surgeon. He achieved the rank of Brigadier General.

Dr. Harvey is a member of The Liberty City Church of Christ.

He is married to Alice and they have three children.
