Scriven to Deliver Deaconess Consecration Message at BMBC

Sis. Florrie Scriven Sis. Florrie Scriven On Sunday, November 22, 2009, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 May Street, will hold a Deaconess Consecration Service at 4PM for six ladies in the congregation. The speaker for the occasion will be Sister Florrie B. Scriven, who is well-known in the Savannah community for her religious and civic contributions.

She attended the public schools of Chatham County and is a licensed practical nurse. She was married to the late Deacon Eugene Scriven and she is the mother of two children, Willie R. Martin and Ardell L. Saleem, both of Atlanta, GA. She is also a blessed grandmother and great grandmother.

Sister Scriven is a Savannah native and a longtime member of First Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Guy Malcolm Hodge, III. At First Nazareth, she sings in the #1 Senior Choir, is a Sunday School teacher for the Junior Class and a Youth Advisor.

Currently, she serves as President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association, Inc., is First District Foreign Missions Coordinator of the General Missionary Baptist Convention (GMBC) of Georgia, Inc., and Coordinator of the State Association of Presidents, Vice Presidents and Emeritus for the GMBC of GA, where Rev. Clarence Moore is the President. Sister Scriven has traveled nationally and internationally, always ready to share the Word of God to all who will hear.

The Deaconess candidates are: Sisters Janice Davis, Felicia Hagan, Dorothy J. Payne Hill, Catherine Mobley, Ruby Mungin Rawlison and Naomi Thomas.
