Handel’s Messiah Sing Along 2009...Continuing the Legacy

The Worship, Music and Spiritual Life Ministry of Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, USA will present the Chancel Choir in its anuual Handel's Messiah Sing Along on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 7 pm. .

Rehearals will continue on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 7 pm. Members of the James Thompson, Jr. Community Chorale, Savannah State University (College) Concert Choir Alumni and other interested musicians in the community are invited to come join the Butler Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir as we continue this tradition began at Savannah State University under direction of the late Dr. Coleridge A. Braithwaite. Guests musicians will include BRAVO [Black Youth Reaching to Achieve in Vocal and Orchestral music] MUSIC CO. INC. Alumni - Mr. Ida Benson, Jaja, French Horn, Ms. Leah Hannon, Soprano and Ms. Brandis Smith, Mezzo Soprano. Current BRAVO members The Small Family String Ensemble, Soloists from the South Carolina State University Music Department, Orangeburg, SC, Mr. Thomas Davis, Tenor and Mr. Stephon Miller. Bass; Members of the SSU Men’s Glee Club Alumni, Mr. Lawrence Hutchins and Ms. Rose O. Smith - co directors and Mr. R Stephen Branyon, organist.
