He spoke passionately about his love of old cars, friends who shared the same passion and his quest in getting his 1954 Dodge Ram Pickup Truck re-built from the ground up. It was a complete frame-off restoration which took over three years.
Fast forward and Savannah now has a new car club. The “OLE SKOOL CRUIZERS” .
They now boast 12 members after starting with 5 back in the fall of 2008. The club has by-laws in place along with officers who provide the leadership and vision for the newly formed auto club.
Officers are Charles Black, President, Stanley Highsmith, Vice President, Steve Harris, Secretary, and Leon Huckabee, Treasurer.
The club has had an immediate impact on the Car Shows and Cruise scene by taking top awards in all the shows they have entered thus far. From Savannah to Hinesville club members have won “ Best In Show,” “Best Truck “,Top Five trophies and plaques to name a few.
Many of the cars are of the 1960 muscle car, “ Big Block high horse power “variety, but the club also boasts cars from the 1930 's to as recent as a 1987 Buick Regal T Type turbo charged V-6.
