State Attorney General; Carol Bell, Chairperson - Local 100 Celebrity Men Who Cook; Bert Tenenbaum - 2009 Corporate Chairman The 2009 United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Corporate Kick-off Breakfast was held Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the First City Club.

The event was the official kick-off of the 2009 Savannah's 100 Celebrity Men Who Cook. Bert Tenenbaum, Corporate Chairman, thanked the corporate and professional communities and officially announced this year's event. Tenenbaum offered a strong challenge to the corporate community to come on board and support this year's campaign. Business professionals, elected officials, and clergymen were all on hand for the breakfast.

Also present were Maurice Jenkins, UNCF Senior Vice-President Southeast Region and members of the sponsoring sororities - Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta.

Thurbert Baker, Georgia State Attorney General was the speaker for the Corporate Breakfast. The Attorney General emphasized the urgent need to support the United Negro College Fund because there is an increase in enrollment at historically Black colleges and universities but a decrease in funding, and that students must be prepared when those “windows of life” open.

Savannah's 100 Celebrity Men Who Cook 2009 event chairman is Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Superintendent - Savannah Chatham County Schools.
