Roland Martin addresses the crowd at the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship Luncheon Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Savannah Alumnae Chapter welcomed nationally-known CNN political analyst Roland S. Martin as the guest speaker for the sorority's first scholarship luncheon Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2009 at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.

Over 600 guests gathered to hear the award-winning journalist. Martin was graciously welcomed with continuous applause and several standing ovations.

He challenged the capacity crowd to take a stand in bringing about a positive change in their communities, the country and the world.

A nationally-known columnist, Roland S. Martin is a commentator for TV One Cable Network and an analyst for CNN. He has appeared on a variety of different shows, including Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull, The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper 360, Lou Dobbs Tonight, and many others.

All proceeds will benefit Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - Savannah Alumnae Chapter Scholarship Fund.

The chapter awards approximately $9,000.00 in scholarship money to deserving students every year.
