Garden City Opens New City Hall Facility

On Friday, September 25, 2009, the city of Garden City hosted a grand opening of the New City Hall, including an official ribbon cutting.
The new 33,000- square-foot City Hall is home to the Garden City Police Department headquarters, Municipal Court, City Council chambers and administrative offices for Garden City employees.
The City Hall, which anchors the new Garden City Town Center, marks a dramatic expansion from the building’s former location at 100 Main Street. The new location is 100 Central Avenue accross from the Southbridge entrance. Mayor Andy Quinney took this time to also make the announcement that he will resign as mayor due to health reasons. “I don’t want my grandchildren to remember me being sick,” Quinney said.
