St. Philip Groups Partner to host Women’s Conference 2009

The “Allenrettes” and “Sisters in the Spirit” of St. Philip A.M.E. Church, 613 Martin Luther King, Jr. BLVD, announce their Women's Conference 2009 planned October 9 -11, 2009. The theme is “God's Precious Jewels: Remembering Your Worth…Even Me.” This year's conference will offer inaugural concurrent sessions for the younger ladies (ages 11 - 17), “Jewels, Too.”

The conference agenda includes: Friday, October 9th - Opening Worship Service conducted by Rev. Bernadette Jackson and “Faith on the Move Ministries;” Saturday October 10th - bible study led by Rev. Delores Johnson, SPAME associate pastor; workshop presentations by Sis. Betty Warnock Sterling , R.N.; Rev. Cheryl Barnes, associate pastor, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL; Licentiate Ashley Johnson Morris, Pleasant Grove AME Church, Hinesville, GA; and Evangelist Angel Thomas Deloach. During lunch conference attendees are asked to join in the fun by entering the “Hat Show.” Ladies may bring a favorite hat to model in one or a couple of the following categories: Prettiest, Oldest, Extravagant, Outlandish. Celebrity judges will assist in awarding prizes. Sunday, October 11th - Closing Worship Service with Rev. Cheryl Barnes, as proclaimer of the word.

Once again an awesome week-end has been planned with “God's precious jewels” in mind. Registration is only $20 for ladies 18 and older; $10 for young ladies 11 - 17 years - “Jewels, too.”
