Anthony Jones, I In Mark 10:17, Peter had just witness Jesus engage in a conversation with the rich young ruler who asked Jesus, “what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said to him, “you know the commandments?” He replies, “yes I have kept all these commandments from my youth”. Jesus said to him, “one thing you lack, go sell whatsoever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and take up the cross, and follow me.”

The rich young ruler went away sad at what Jesus told him to do. Now Peter comes up to Jesus and says, we have left all to follower you, what’s in it for us? If you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior, you now hold the title deed to your mansion in heaven. There are rewards for following God in this life. We have some preaches who are preaching a flawed theology as it relates to the message of prosperity. Jesus told Peter in Mark 10: 29-30, “there is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake , and the gospels, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” What you give up for the kingdom of God, God gives it back to you in a greater measure. John 15:7 reminds us, “if ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.”

We still have some who believe that the message of prosperity is only spiritual and not monetary or material. God promised that He will not withhold know good thing from any one who walk upright (Psalms 84:11).

Just as on many of our jobs, there come benefits with employment.

God’s employment is know different. In fact, His benefits are even greater. In the book of Job 36: 11 says, “if they (you) obey and serve Him; they (you) shall spend their (your) days in prosperity, and their (your) years in pleasures.” This is how a child of God suppose to be living. How can one receive these God kind of benefits?

You must confess your sins first, and ask Jesus to come into your life. Then you must surrender your life totally over to Him.

As a child of God, you have a right to ask God for what you want; and to experience to live the good life now on this side of the Jordan.

The blessings of the Lord are to all of God’s children. And that’s the simple gospel.
