The grand opening was held on Thursday, August 12, and residents of Savannah and surrounding counties stood in a mile long line just to take advantage of the excellent deals included in the grand opening celebration.

Flat sceen televisions, cameras, washers, dryers, and video cameras were all available at low prices.

“We selected Savannah based upon the demographics of the city since we felt we could fit a need for consumers in this market,” said Jeff Pearson, Vice President, Marketing, for HH Gregg.

“We also selected Savannah based upon the available real estate with the departure of Linen's and Things and Circuit City. We have been in the state of Georgia since 2003 and new Savannah was one of the locations where we wanted to expand. We believe our shopping experience and selection of appliances and electronics will provide consumers the best place to purchase these products”.

In 1955, in a small storefront on Indianapolis' north side, H. H. and Fansy Gregg first walked the sales floor of their new appliance store. The Gregg's new store featured washing machines, clothes dryers, refrigerators and outdoor grills. Not long after, the family began selling black & white and the newest color television sets, along with other electronic products. The business was founded on personal, caring customer service.

Customers enjoyed the personal service and attention to detail the store offered, and business prospered. Over the years, hhgregg added new locations throughout Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, South

Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.

Today, the company is one of the nation's leading retailers of home appliances and consumer electronics. Still operated by the Gregg family, the services we offer continue to show that we care about our customers' complete satisfaction.
