Community Events Junior League of Savannah Thrift Sale The 62nd annual Junior League of Savannah Thrift Sale will be held on Friday, October 2 from 10 am to 2 pm and Saturday, October 3 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Savannah Civic Center. United Way of Coastal Empire Solicits Programs Local non-profit organizations have between now and September 14, 2009 to declare their intent to apply for funding from United Way of the Coastal Empire. The fund will grant money to programs and services that have a proven track record of outcomes as well as new, innovative programs related to one of United Way priorities: Education and Youth Development, Health and Wellness, and Economic Independence. Organizations supporting families and neighborhoods with programs that provide food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities of life are also encouraged to apply. The Program Funding Application is available on the United Way website at www.uwce.org. The submission date for completed applications is the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Monday, September 14, 2009.
