School Board Approves New Bell Times for 2009-10 School Year
2009-08-12 / Social & Community News
In an effort to better serve our students and reduce transportation costs for the district, the Savannah-Chatham County School Board has voted unanimously to change bell times for the 2009-10 school year.
A committee of principals, central office staff and First Student developed the new schedule after several extensive meetings.
The new schedule consists of a 4 tier system which includes two start times for elementary schools and a later start time for high school.
The new schedule will require fewer routes and save the district $2,100,000 in transportation costs.
