The W.W. Law Circle of Friends Legacy Breakfast was held on Saturday, August 8 at the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum Annex.
Shown above is local artist Artie Milton presenting a portrait to Mrs. Eloria Gilbert.
Mrs. Gilbert served as keynote speaker for the breakfast. Mrs. Gilbert, a retired educator and civil rights activist, has a compelling behind the scenes story representative of the contribution of women in the civil rights movement.
She was a longtime friend of W.W. Law and continues to be supportive of his work and the work of the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, named for her late husband.
The breakfast launched W. W. Law Foundation 2009-2010 annual fundraising campaign themed "Continue Passing the Torch: Let's Preserve the Life and Legacy of W. W. Law Together."
Milton, a Savannah native, is a 1982 graduate of SCAD, and a 1989 graduate of the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.
