Todd to Keynote Scholarship Banquet

Thomas N. Todd Thomas N. Todd Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 6:30 PM in the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom, the Savannah Chapter of the National Forum For Black Public Administrators will sponsor their 2nd Annual Beverly M. Whitehead Scholarship Banquet.

The speaker will be Thomas N. Todd, Attorney At Law, Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Todd attended Southern University's School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1963.

He has received honorary doctorates from Grambling State, Syracuse University, Wilberforce University, Talladega College, Southern University, University of Michigan Eastern Shore and Bethune- Cookman College.

As the first full time black law professor at Northwestern University's School of Law, he taught from 1970 to 1974. As a Civil Rights Leader, he was President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Chicago Chapter, 1971; Executive Vice President of Operation PUSH, and President of Operation PUSH from 1983- 1984. He is so widely regarded as an awesome orator, that he is affectionately known as "TNT".

The National Forum for Black Public Administrators is a 27 year old national organization committed to strengthen the position of Blacks within the field of public administration; to increase the number of Blacks appointed to executive positions in public service organizations; and, to groom and prepare younger, aspiring administrators for senior public management posts in the years ahead.

The Savannah Metropolitan Chapter was founded in 2007 and was recently recognized for being the fastest growing chapter in the country, with over 80 members in Savannah/Chatham County, Coastal Georgia and the Low Country of South Carolina.
