Ralph Mark Gilbert Museum Receives $5,000

On Tuesday, July 14, The Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum received a check for $5,000. The $5,000 was a combined $2,500 from Walmart, and $2,500 from Sam’s Club. Board members were on hand for the presentation.

Jamerson, III said this isn’t the first time the companies have displayed their generosity. “ Walmart and Sam’s Club have been partners of the Museum for a number of years, and often lend their support. This is not the first time they have assisted rather it be monetarily, or with labor forces.”

In April, the companies assisted the Museum with spring cleaning, sending in a crew of 25 for a day and a half of extensive cleaning.Established in 1996, the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum commemorates Civil Rights activities led by local leaders and countless others including hundreds of school children.
