In six seasons with the Tigers, he led the team to a 67-107 mark. Prior to taking over the Tiger program, Alexander spent 16 seasons at South Carolina State. In Orangeburg, S.C., he led the Bulldogs to five seasons of 20-plus wins. During his tenure, Alexander directed the Bulldogs to five NCAA Tournaments and five MEAC championships. He posted a 277-202 won-loss record, making him the winningest coach in MEAC and SCSU history, as the Bulldogs finished first or second in the MEAC in all but one of his final 12 seasons. The program was named the American Sports Wire Black College National Champions three times (1996, 1998, and 2000) under Alexander’s guidance.
