National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) president and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous was in Savannah this weekend and spoke at a rally as a part of "I AM TROY," a grassroots campaign and petition drive to spare Troy Davis from execution at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison near Jackson. The NAACP launched the campaign to save the life of Troy Davis, an African American man on death row, who will be executed unless Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue or the Savannah District Attorney Larry Chisolm intervene. Savannah Technical College has selected Jim Nordone as its Vice President for Student Affairs. Nordone, (e-photo attached) of Atlanta, brings more than two decades of experience in student services leadership, serving most recently as the Executive Director for Student Affairs with the Technical College System of Georgia.
