Second African Baptist Church Celebrates Graduates Recognition Sunday
      The Second African Baptist Church, 123 Houston Street on Greene Square, is celebrating Graduates' Recognition Sunday on June 28, 2009 during the 11:00 morning services. The high school graduates receiving special recognition this year include Martina Allen, Taylor Davis, Jasmine Holmes and Rachel Williams. In addition to graduates, college graduates and retirees will also be honored.

Asbury to hold Celebration : Honoring African American Fathers
      The Asbury United Methodist Church, 1201 Abercorn St. at Duffy Street, will sponsor the Second Annual Celebration of Honoring African American Fathers on Sunday, June 28 at 6pm. Special musical guests will include Kenyatta Tucker, Juanita Tucker, spoken word artist Clinton Powell, Psalmist Gary Swindell, and Leah and Camille Hannon, accompanists. Guest artists include The Youth Spitfire Poetry Group, Brittany Carter, praise dancer, Inner City Night Shelter Men’s Ensemble, Maya Hardrick, reader, and Eastside Winds.

Family & Friends Weekend at Central Missionary Baptist Church (Hitch Village)
      Central Missionary Baptist Church (Hitch Village) will celebrate their Annual Family & Friends Weekend, Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th. The Picnic will be held on Saturday at Lott's Island (Hunter Army Air Field) 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The weekend will culminate with the Worship Service starting at 11:00 a.m. at Central Missionary Baptist Church. In 2000, I began to feel the tug of God in my life. Although, I was still running the streets. In 2001 completed another gangster rap album called "Another Day, Another Grind" which was the follow up of my first album; by the grace of God this album was never released.
