GABEO to hold Countywide Festival

The Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials (GABEO), in partnership with the Carver VIllage/Heights Mission Organization, and the Greenbriar Children’s Center will sponsor a Countywide Community Festival and Celebration on Saturday, June 20, at 6pm. The event will be held at the Kennedy Park, Carver Village, 905 Collat Street. Come and meet local, state, and federal officials, civil rights activists, educators, law enforcement, and youth advocates.

This event is free and open to the public.

There will be music, food, entertainment, and a health and job fair.

This event is a part of GABEO’s annual summer convention themed “Stopping the Violence, Saving our Children, Ending the Carnage!!”.

With more than 700 members statewide, GABEO’s main focus is on developing programs which will provide deterrents to violence and crime among youth; promoting voter registration, education and participation; forming literacy programs to battle the growing problem of illiteracy in the state; and securing economic parity for all Georgians.
