The King-Tisdell Cottage Foundation kicked off its Annual Awards Banquet at Candler Hospital on Friday, May 1, 2009 with a breakfast for key community and business leaders. The breakfast was hosted by this year’s Honorary Chairman, Paul Hinchey, CEO of St. Joseph’s/Candler. Mr. Hinchey is a former KTCF Award recipient. Albany State University held its Commencement Exercises on May 2, 2009 at the James H. Gray, Sr. Civic Center in Albany Georgia. During Commencement exercises, more than 300 students received bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees. Among the graduates was Frenchye Love Wilkerson. Kenny Grainger, President of Savannah’s Cash-n-Carry used auto parts and self-serve salvage yard, and its employees proudly held the grand opening of a new 4,200 square foot customer service building. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on May 27. The event will also served as a customer appreciation day where customers enjoyed free admission to the salvage yard, free food and had a chance to win a car through a raffle.
