In an effort to improve the test scores of each student, the school council coordinated a special breakfast snack to be given to their 800 students before each morning of testing. The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) agreed to sponsor the first day of testing with sausage and butter biscuits from McDonald's Restaurant on Abercorn. Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears will not be slowing down when she steps down from the Supreme Court of Georgia at the end of June. She recently announced she will join the law firm of Schiff Hardin, a nationallyrenowned firm based in Chicago. The law firm has nearly 400 lawyers and offices in seven major American cities, including Atlanta, where Chief Justice Sears' practice will be based. The announcement was made by Douglas Skelton, M.D., Health Director of the Coastal Health District, during today's Chatham County Board of Health meeting. McCall comes to the Chatham County Health Department from the Coastal Health District where he served as Program Manager.
