STC Effingham gets Certified for CDL testing
The Georgia Department of Driver Services certified the Effingham Commercial Truck Driving range as an approved site for third party CDL testing. Both students and members of the general public are able to test for licensure using Savannah Technical College's Effingham Campus track.
"We are very pleased to offer the CDL program at the Effingham Campus of Savannah Technical College. The program is very popular and the classes have been filling to capacity every five weeks. We are proud to have this program on our campus," says Laurie Herrington, Effingham Campus Director.
Commercial Truck Driving is a certificate program at the college, consisting of 70 hours of classroom and 240 hours of hands-on instruction. Emphasis is placed on professional driving techniques, local and over the road travel, safety and the rules and regulations of the Department of Transportation. Financial aid is available for students enrolling in the courses.
"The certification of our CDL range provides tremendous opportunities for students as well as the general public to take the commercial truck driving road exam on the Effingham Campus," says Joseph Franklin, Dean of Industrial Technology programs.
