Facing an Upside Down Economy

2009-03-11 / Social & Community News

There is no question that every citizen of the United States of America is feeling, to some extent, the effects of the recession and depression in which we now exist.

The extremities have tremendous ranges, i.e. decreased pay, decreased hours, frozen wages to absolute unemployment; diminished retirement and investment accounts, diminished home equity and yes, foreclosure.

In an effort to continue on its mission to serve Savannah and surrounding areas, the Financial Planning Ministry of Connor's Temple Baptist Church has chosen the topic INDIVIDUAL/FAMILY SURVIVAL IN A STRUGGLING ECONOMY for its first quarter's series of workshops/seminars. This session is co-hosted by the Covenant Couples' Ministry of Connor's Temple.

"As a result of the economic environment in which we now find ourselves, every one of us is impacted in one way or another. Therefore, we deem it quite timely to provide an open setting for individuals to partake in discussion that offer ideas and suggestions which may transcend to hope, positive thinking and ways in which we can tighten the household belt.

In the business world, such forums and round-tables are afforded every day, but it is equally essential that homes are considered, also" says Ministry Chairperson, Pat Mathis. "Cutting overheard applies to individuals as well as to corporations in our pursuits to survive tough times."

Certified Public Account, Warren F. Mitchell will facilitate this FREE TO ALL seminar which will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, at the Con- Ed Family Resource Center, 714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Savannah.
