Bethel Celebrates 130th Anniversary

On Sunday, March 15, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Charles W. Purnell and the members of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1814 East 38th Street, Savannah, GA invites the community to join them in their 130th Church Anniversary Celebration. The theme for this momentous occasion is "Godly People Will Survive Tough Times." Pre-anniversary services will began on Tuesday, March 10, with the dynamic Rev. Franklin Blackshear and his congregation of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church leading the service. On Wednesday, March 11, the Rev. Waymon Hodges and the congregation of Brownsville Baptist Church will be in charge of service. These services will begin at 7:00 p.m. nightly. The anniversary celebration will culminate on Sunday, March 15 during the 11:00 a.m. worship hour. A delightful fellowship dinner will follow the morning worship in the church's Fellowship Hall.
