Armstrong Atlantic State's Winter Commencement Is Largest Ever
      An estimated 650 graduating students will be on hand to receive diplomas during the largest winter commencement ceremonies in the history of the university. Two ceremonies will be held on Saturday, December 13, at 10 m. and 1 p.m. in the Alumni Arena on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street, in Savannah.

City Mission's Day of Great Thanksgiving Over the Top
      Old Savannah City Mission's 11th Annual Day of Great Thanksgiving was over the top. Not only was the day beautiful and crispy, 5,276 delicious smoked turkey dinners were served to our community's neediest citizens. Volunteers delivered over 1,200 dinners to seniors, shut-ins and folks with special needs.

Georgia Represented in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
      Atlanta - Georgia will be well represented in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Marching Band takes center stage. The group is one of two college bands selected to perform during the traditional kickoff to the holiday season. The parade will be broadcast live Thursday, November 27, 2008, on NBC from 9:00 a.m. until noon (EST).

Fay and Steele Receive First Two Tickets to NAACP Obama Victory Breakfast Celebration
     Dr. Martha Fay and Mrs. Sadie Davis Steele received the first two tickets to the Obama Victory Breakfast Celebration to be held December 3, 2008. The ladies are pictured with Dr. Billy Jamison, RMG Museum Board Chairman; Savannah Branch NAACP President Dr. Prince Jackson; and other members of the NAACP. "These two ladies are among the oldest Civil Rights Warriors from our community. They laid everything on the line for what they believed in," said Dr. Jackson. Mrs. Steele is a retired educator and Dr. Martha Fay is a retired Geneticist.
