Annual Handel's Messiah Sing-Along set for Dec. 5
Your presence will be greatly appreciated on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 7 p.m. for the annual Messiah Sing Along. Please bring your family and friends to Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, 603 West Victory Drive, Rev. Desmond M. Walker, Pastor. Admission is free, a silent offering will be taken. The Prelude and other selections will be provided by special Guests, members of the Savannah State University Glee Club Alumni and area youth of the BRAVO (Black Youth Reaching to Achieve in Vocal and Orchestral Music) Music company and SONATA (Sponsors of New and Talented Artists).
Part I, the Advent and Nativity Portion of MESSIAH, an Oratorio by George Frederick Handel, will be performed by The Butler Chancel Choir and members of the James Thompson, Jr. Community Chorale. Guest artists will be Mrs. Brenda Rucker, Soprano, Mr. Matthew Jones, Tenor and Miss Brandis Smith, Mezzo- Soprano, all of Savannah, GA; Mr. Stephon Miller, Bass/Baritone of Pawleys Island, SC; Mrs. Mary A. Davis, Pianist of Stockbridge, GA, and Mr. Luther Washington, II, Organist, of Powder Springs, GA.
Persons planning to Sing Along from the audience should arrive by 6:45 p.m. and bring your personal copy of the Messiah. A few copies will be available for purchase.
Security guards will be available to assist you with parking. For further information call church office Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
