AWWIN Introduces WOPP Women Leadership Summit 2008

AWWIN, Inc (A Working Woman In Need) has partnered with University of Phoenix - Savannah and GAWL (Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Savannah Chapter) to host a 2- day Women Leadership Summit at the University Of Phoenix Campus. Join us November 13th and 14th as we present WOPP (Women of Power & Prosperity) 1st Annual Women Leadership Summit 2008.

This is promised to be two days you will not want to miss. Over the two days, Employers, Leaders, Visionaries, etc will come together in one arena, to Educate, Motivate and "Groom Up To Leadership" the lives of working women, women seeking employment, women seeking a higher education or women seeking to own businesses. The participants will also get the opportunity to hear enriching stories of transformation and success, words of encouragement and life lessons. We expect a network of women from all walks of life, to attend this life changing experience.

Please consider supporting the first annual Women's Leadership Summit, "Grooming Up to Leadership". The purpose of this summit is to provide a platform where successful women leaders can teach other women through the sharing of life experiences and skill sets. Organized mentoring programs for women are limited. "Grooming Up to Leadership" sets the stage for future mentorship and professional development opportunities. The program covers all aspects of personal presentation from dress to etiquette to intellectual and rational to responses to workplace problem solving, communications and conflict.

Some of the participating vendors are International Paper, St Joseph's/Candler, Memorial University Medical Center, Darby Bank and Marti Barrow of the Savannah Area Tourism Leadership Council will share the exciting message of how the Tourism and Hospitality industry provides not only jobs but the opportunity to grow and have a thriving career. With tourism being the area's 2nd largest industry and providing more than 16,000 jobs locally, they have a lot to offer! Vendors will share their hiring process, job openings if available, requirements needed to be a part of their team, etc. GAWL, (Georgia Association of Women Lawyers the Savannah Chapter) will share also if you are looking for an opportunity to start or advance your career in the legal field. There will be other great groups and employers sharing on "How To" Area universities and colleges will be in attendance also to speak with you about how to return to school, etc. Additionally, attendees will hear from notable motivational speaker, Miller Bargeron of BOAN Consults. Some of the other notable speakers are Caroline Keller, an attorney at Gulfstream, Marti Barrow, Executive Director of Savannah Area Tourism Leadership Council, Lydia Syed with Cumulus Broadcasting, Nancy Johnson with St Joseph's/Candler and Rose deVries with Darby Bank. The speakers will share how they received their start in the career of their choice and will share with you how you can get your start or move up in your career of choice. They will also share their challenges and how they were able to overcome the challenges they faced.
