Sentient Bean to Host "Sounds of Civil Rights" Music Series
Sentient Bean to Host "Sounds of Civil Rights" Music Series as part of partnership with the Telfair's "Freedom's March" exhibit
At 8:00 pm on the first three Fridays in November, Juanita Tucker and members of The Spitfire Poetry Group along with special guests each night, will be performing a night of music about the struggle for civil rights in America. The event will be an interactive, historic tour through song.
Spoken word dialogue will address the importance of music as a tool for education, a secret language and, of course, inspiration and celebration. A variety of music will be performed including spirituals, freedom songs, and message songs.
All three events are Free and open to the public. Bring your ears and hopefully your voice.
The Sentient Bean is located at 13 E. Park Avenue, across the street from the tennis courts. The events will be on the 7th, 14th, and 21st of November, but not on the 28th.
