Children's Choir to hold innovative Song Dedication Auction on Ebay Each year the Savannah Children's Choir has hosted a reception and silent auction to auction off the "naming rights" -- the opportunity to purchase a song dedication - - for all the songs featured at the Annual Holiday Concert, held this year on December 7 at 3 p.m. at the Lucas Theater. This year, using Ebay's technology, the Choir is opening up their Song Dedication Auction to the world!
Starting on November 10th and ending on November 20th, the opportunity to purchase a dedication for each piece featured in the SCC Annual Holiday Concert will be up for auction at www.Ebay.com The winning dedications will be printed in the program, and announced during the concert. This is a fantastic gift for loved ones or for the person that has everything. "While our auctions have been very successful in the past, this year we're putting an additional load on our parents and volunteers due to the fundraising we're undertaking for our 2009 trips to England and Chattanooga," comments co-founder and managing director Cuffy Sullivan. "By using Ebay, we're keeping the sense of competitive fun in the auction, opening it up to a much larger community, and not overburdening our volunteers." "Cuffy is very technologically creative, and as we were looking at a busy year of fundraising and events, she mentioned this idea," comments co-founder and artistic director Roger Moss. "I thought it was extremely innovative, easy to set up and manage, and a great way to expand the audience for the popular song dedication feature of our Annual Holiday Concert."
