Melissa K. Bouchillon Park Place Outreach New Board Member Park Place Outreach, Inc. is proud to announce it has received a Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation Award. The non-profit was chosen because it's new $1.7 million facility serves as a good example of adaptive reuse, as they found a building that was close to demolition status and transformed it into a fully functional LEED certified building.

Park Place officials accepted the "Preservation" award on October 30th at the Foundation's annual meeting at the SCAD Student Center in Savannah.

There are 25 other businesses, which have been chosen for this award, out of approximately 50 who sent in applications for consideration. The annual awards ceremony has been taking place since 1966.

The Historic Savannah Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental preservation organization. It saves endangered buildings from demolition with a revolving fund; protects Savannah's historic city plan; educates the public in preservation principles and techniques, and enhances the livability of Savannah's historic districts

though these efforts. Park Place provides emergency shelter and street outreach for adolescents ages 11 through 17 and their families. It is the only agency located within Chatham County that serves youth at no charge who are accepted without a referral to receive help. Park Place opened in 1984. Park Place Outreach, Inc. has also announced it has a new board member, Melissa K. Bouchillon, a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch. Melissa has worked there for 4 ®^ years and is looking forward to serving Park Place Outreach.
