      MVSU Rallies Past Savannah State Paul Roberts accounted for three touchdowns including the game-winner with four seconds left as Mississippi Valley State defeated Savannah State 22-20 before a homecoming crowd of 7,654. SSU trailed 16-13 in the fourth but Kurvin Curry threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Deleon Hollinger with 36 seconds left for a 20- 16 advantage.

SSU Starts Basketball Practice
      The men and women basketball programs at Savannah State started practice for the upcoming season over the weekend. The men are coming off a 13-18 season begin the 2008-09 campaign on November 14 by NAIA opponent hosting Brewton- Parker. The Lady Tigers, who were 14-15 a year go, begin this season by hosting Columbia on Nov. 15.
