Savannah Father's Day Golf Club Supports Civic Activities

2008-10-22 / Social & Community News

The Savannah Father's Day Golf Club, Inc. is composed of a group of civic minded individuals from the Savannah Chatham County communities that enjoy the game of golf and uses their recreational pursuit to support civic activities for the greater good of our community. The Savannah Father's Day Golf Club financially supports those organizations within our community that work continuously with the community's youth.

Each of the following organizations, Savannah State University Athletics Department, Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club and the Alice Baisdon/Hayes Scholarship fund at Happy Homes Baptist Church received $1,000.00 for a total of $3,000.00. Funds to support these organizations are raised through sponsorship of our annual father's day golf tournament. To that end, we would like to thank all of our sponsors and players for their generous support.

This is the second year that the Savannah Father's Day Golf Club has donated funds to the community. The 2007 recipient organizations were Savannah State University Athletic Department, Hodge Day Care and The Greenbrier Children Center and each one received a $1,000.00 donation.

Members include: Roy L. Jackson, President; Joe Griggs, Vice President; Arnold Smalley, Secretary; and Daniel Harris, Treasurer.
