Mr. Melvin Mason Hodge Memorial Day Care Center, 805 May Street, held its first Parent Club meeting on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was led in prayer by Mr. Melvin Mason, Director of Hodge Memorial Day Care Center. Parents and Staff were introduced. New officers for the 2008/2009 school year were elected.

The officers are as follows: President, Kimberly Simmons; Vice president, Tameka Hutchinson; Secretary, Ayanna Middleton; Assistant Secretary, Kisha Baxter; and Reporter, Kirsten Bryant.

Hodge Memorial Day Care Center received a grant from First Book Savannah/Chatham County, GA. The center was awarded $750 in catalog book credits. The books were distributed to our parents at the meeting.

The order of business included the Day Care's insurance, income eligibility statements and tuition increase effective January 1, 2009. Yearly activities and fund-raising projects were also discussed. Thirty-six out of forty-five parents attended.
