The SSU College Democrats will host a 2008 Women's Forum at Savannah State University's University Village Banquet Room at 3219 College Street, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from 7:30PM- 9:30PM. The 2008 election year has been a historic and progressive event with presidential hopefuls like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Pallin in the mix among very distinguished male candidates. This year the SSU College Democrats would like to get a local opinion on the role of women in the 2008 presidential election.

The Topic of the forum is the Role of Women in the 2008 Presidential Election. Panelists are Dr. Theresa Winterhalter of the Women's Studies Department at Atlantic Armstrong University, Congresswomen Regina Thomas, Attorney Gwen Fortson Waring, Jennifer Durden of the Savannah Boys and Girls Club, Lex Gibson of Savannah College of Art and Design, and last but not least Mayor Edna Jackson.

The sponsoring partners are the Savannah Women for Change, SSU Political Science Association, SCAD College Democrats, AASU College Democrats, SSU Student Government Association, SSU Graduate Council, SSU Junior Class, and Chatham County Young Democrats. We are sure this event will be informative and enlightening to Savannah State Students as well as the Savannah Community. The strength of local female leaders on the panel is certainly a historic and monumental event that you will not want to miss and will want to bring your daughters, sisters and friends to.

Hope to see you there!
