"Mama Turn the Radio On" a Big Hit
Mama and the Radio The reviews are in, Donald Lovette and Love-It Production's presentation of "Mama Turn the Radio On," a live stage play written and produced by Donald Lovette was the cultural arts highlight of the year for Liberty County and the Hinesville area communities. Hinesville Mayor James Thomas said "the play is inspirational, thought provoking, a must see." Margaret Hendrix, a writer for the Closeups and the Bryan County Now said "Donald Lovette's new show has everything it needs to be a hit - comedy, drama, sparkling wit, universality and a bit of theology thrown into the mix." Tom Hickey, interim president of the Hinesville Area Arts Council commented "the presentation is a modern take on the prodigal son. Donald Lovette presents the message in a format that is both realistic and entertaining."
The great enthusiasm for this event was three fold. First the production was written and produced by a local playwright, Donald Lovette. Secondly, those starring in the play: Charolette Lovette- Norman, Rodney Jackson, Vonn Jackson, Minister Anthony Johnson, Ann Kirkwood, Larry Baker, Kenneth Howard, Randy Knox, Bernard Rose, Neomi Ford, and the Baconton Baptist Church Adult Choir are local persons who performed superbly. Lastly, the performance was performed at home - in Hinesville.
By popular demand the play will be presented again on October 4 in Jesup, Georgia and on October 24, 7:00 p.m. at Club Stewart, Ft. Stewart, Ga. For booking information call Andrew Williams, Events Coordinator at (912) 977-3293.
