Youth Futures Authority Extends Call for Vision Award Nominations The Chatham- Savannah Youth Futures Authority is convening the Eighth Annual Community Summit. The theme of this year's summit is "Building Community Results through Collaboration." The objective of the Community Summit is to strengthen and expand partnership efforts in developing and executing action plans that address the issues facing our children, youth and their families. The summit will take place on September 25-26, 2008, at the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom. A key component of the Community Summit is recognizing noteworthy contributors in our community who reflect the attributes of two of Savannah's infamous citizens as it relates to improving and sustaining better lives for our youth and their families. Each year awards are presented to recipients who have made significant contributions to our community in memory of Ms. Gwendolyn Goodman and Mr. Arthur A. (Don) Mendonsa. The deadline for submitting nominees has been extended to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008. The Vision Awards will be awarded during the Community Issues Breakfast on Friday, September 26th at 8:00am. We hope you will take part in this nomination process and the opportunity to honor those persons in our community who go above and beyond to ensure the overall well-being of our citizens.
