Tessier Promoted To Head Athletic Trainer at Savannah State
      Ken Tessier, who's served on the athletic training staff at Savannah State University for the past year, has been promoted to head athletic trainer at SSU. Tessier served as assistant athletic trainer for the Tigers since June 2007.

      Tigers Open Football Season The Savannah State football team will begin the Robby Wells era on August 30 at Memorial Stadium when the Tigers host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Coming off a 1-9 season, SSU will have a young squad. All-American candidate Javorris Jackson will lead the Tigers defense which will feature five linebackers.
