Savannah Association for the Blind Sponsors Awards Banquet and Silent Auction

Savannah Association for the Blind, Inc. will sponsor its annual Awards Banquet and Silent Auction - Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Hilton Savannah Desoto Hotel. The Silent Auction will begin at 6:00P.M., and the program and dinner will begin at 7:00P.M.

Savannah Association for the Blind, Inc. is a private, nonprofit 501(c) (3) agency, which has been in existence since 1872. It is dedicated to helping individuals of all ages learn how to function independently at home and in the community. The certified staff teaches clients that, even though they are visually impaired, they can still continue to live a normal life and achieve independence with dignity.

The Mission of Savannah Association for the Blind, Inc. is to provide quality services and activities designed to help each person served adjust to a severe vision loss and to function independently at home and in the community. It is the only organization providing comprehensive rehabilitation training for blind and visually impaired individuals in Southeast Georgia. The agency services twenty-nine (29)counties: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Jenkins, Johnson, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Montgomery, Pierce, Screven, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Ware, Wayne. The comprehensive Rehabilitation Program at Savannah Association for the Blind is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Training Facilities).

There are many causes of blindness: Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Glaucoma and/or Premature Birth. Imagine one day, suddenly because of a tragic accident, you are unable to read a letter, book, or newspaper. No one is exempt from blindness; however, those of us who live in this area are fortunate because Savannah Association for the Blind, Inc. (SAB) offers help for the blind and visually-impaired.

All nonprofits have experience cuts in funding in recent years. Your support will help us continue to provide quality services.

We need your help! Please consider purchasing a banquet ticket, giving a taxdeductible donation, or getting some great bargains at the Silent Auction. Tickets are only $75.00. Sponsorship levels are as follows: Friend- $25.00 - $50.00, Patron - $100.00 - $500.00, Table Sponsor - $600.00, Bronze Sponsor - $1,000.00, Silver Sponsor - $1,500.00, Gold Sponsor - $2,000.00, Platinum Sponsor - $3, 000.00, Corporate Sponsor, $5,000.00 & above. No donation is too small.
