Marika E. Brownlee Performs with the Boston Tap Company
Sean Fielder, Founder and Director, teaching choreography to Marika Elon Brownlee. Marika Elon Brownlee, age 13 of Savannah, is currently performing as one of the members of the Boston Tap Company under the direction of Sean Fielder. This weekend she will be in two performances -- at the 2nd Annual Beantown Tap Fest in Watertown, MA on Aug. 22nd and at Jacob's Pillow in Becket, MA on August 23rd. Later in September, the Boston Tap Company's show called Rhythm in the Night, is being performed for a second run; it was first performed in April as the premier show for this newly formed dance company.
Boston Tap Company is comprised of dancers from diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of percussive tap dance made famous by such great Hoofers as the Nicholas Brothers, Sammy Davis, Jr., Gregory Hines, Dianne Walker and other master artists.
Marika Brownlee is entering ninth grade. She is is the daughter of Tina Kohout and Roosevelt Brownlee, Jr. of Savannah.
