Amara Jones named MEAC Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Norfolk, Va. – Savannah State University senior Amara Jones was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference women’s track and field athlete of the week for the week ending February 3rd, the conference announced Friday afternoon.

Eighteen student-athletes have signed letters of intent to play football at Savannah State University, head coach Steve Davenport announced at an afternoon press conference in the Tiger Arena multipurpose room.

The incoming class is balanced with nine offensive players and nine defensive players.
