Voice Festival Gathers Momentum

The VOICE Festival organizers announce four additional informal events and help Savannah residents and visitors navigate the schedule. The VOICE Festival will layer the city with a wide variety of vocal experiences and are encouraging people from all over the region to taste the magic of these performances, whatever their musical taste or most convenient location. Sherrill Milnes, opera legend and Artistic Director of the Savannah VOICE Festival explains “We have made it simple to understand our programs and choose which events to attend”:

• Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM are at the First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Avenue, Ardsley Park, midtown Savannah. Amazing performances on August 13th with the ‘American Music Concert’ when Dan Gettinger and festival artists present Broadway to Opera to Song – tickets are only $15 each

• Thursday evenings are FREE EVENTS from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Savannah Arts Academy Auditorium, 500 Washington Avenue, Ardsley Park, midtown Savannah. Thursday, August 8th is Festival Movie Night featuring PUCCINI’S “TOSCA” and August 15th is the Tito Capobianco Master Class as audiences watch the maestro work with singers as they make discoveries about their art.

• Saturday August 17th is the FESTIVAL FINALE from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Christ Church, Savannah, 28 Bull Street, Downtown Savannah. A Grand Night for Singing – The Savannah Voice Festival culminates with a wonderful multi-faceted concert – tickets are $25

The VOICE Festival will also be hosting the Community Outreach Session Teen Full Day Workshop on Saturday August 10th at the Westin Savannah Harbor and today announces a series of four special evenings – ‘Musical Moments at Aqua Star’, the Westin’s new restaurant and bar.
