The Juneteenth Festival will be held on Saturday, June 17th in the 38th Street Park @ 11 AM. Come one: Come all to the greatest Juneteenth of them all!
The Daughters Of Mary Magdalene will showcase Savannah’s most outstanding honorees, former school board member, Mrs. Jesse Collier Deloach, author and activist, Mrs. Pamela Oglesby, humanitarian, Mrs. Beverly Santos, first black piano tuner in Savannah and musician, Mr. James Cole, Men of the Gospel, Reverend Lexie Aikens,-St. Luke Baptist Church and Reverend Richard Hall-Second Arnold Baptist Church, radio and TV personality, Mr. Chester Dunham, writer, producer, and performance artist; Katoria Mitchell, and last but not least Mr. Allen Mainor-Community Activist and NAACP member.
As always, the Daughters of Mary Magdalene have a show stopper line up:Atlanta’s finest rappers K-7, The Abend African Dance Group, the sensational ILA Gospel Ensemble, the New Orleans Style of the Southern Bones, the Gospel Tones from Midway Georgia and the Soulful Rhythm of the baddest band in the land – Pocket Change!
