United Way Hands On Savannah Calls For Nominations For Volunteer Awards


Do you know a volunteer or volunteer administrator who goes the extra mile? United Way Hands On Savannah is calling for nominations for its 37th Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards. The nomination form is available online at www.handsonsavannah.org. Entries must be received by March 9, 2016.

Nominating a volunteer or volunteer administrator who stands out from the crowd is a great way to show your appreciation for their wonderful work. If you know a volunteer or group deserving recognition, nominate them today in one of the following five categories: 1.Animal Advocacy
2.Arts & Culture
3.Education
4.Environment
5.Health & Human Services

A panel of community minded judges will select a winner who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in any of the above categories. A $500 scholarship award will be presented to an outstanding youth individual nominee. The United Way Herschel V. Jenkins Volunteer of the Year Award is selected from the winners in the five categories. The winner’s non-profit organization will be awarded $1,000 in their honor.

All nominees will be recognized with free admission to the awards luncheon, a short biography highlighting their accomplishments in the program booklet, and a small gift. Results will be announced during the Volunteer Recognition Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:45 am at Savannah Station. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 per person or $250 for a table of 10.
