Ugandan Kids Choir to Perform in Savannah

The internationally known Ugandan Kids Choir will perform in Savannah on Sunday, January 20, 2019, 5:00 PM at St. Paul CME Church, located at 1601 Barnard Street. The Ugandan Kids Choir is a group of girls and boys, blessed with an amazing talent for song and dance! They tour the United States and other countries speaking up on behalf of children living in poverty who have yet to be sponsored.

The children in the choir bring a message of hope through traditional music and dance. As they tour the US, they delight audiences with their high-energy performances and infectious joy. The choir is made up of 10 sponsored children, ages 7 to 12, who come from the poorest parts of Uganda. The children are chosen for their enthusiasm, ability, and dedication—all of which make them potential leaders when they return to their communities. Inspired by the singing of one small boy, the first African Children’s Choir was formed to show the world that Africa’s most vulnerable children have beauty, dignity and unlimited ability.”

The choir has previously performed in Savannah during the Black Heritage Festival. This year, the choir is sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Savannah Alumnae Chapter as a part of its annual focus on International Awareness. Please join Delta Sigma Theta and the entire Savannah community for an afternoon of exciting song and dance by the world famous Ugandan Kids Choir. This event is free and open to the public. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
