The “Totally In For Tybee” fundraiser hosted by Live Oak Restaurant Group raised $5,832 to help residents of Tybee Island who are affected by Hurricane Irma. Live Oak Restaurant Group donated the proceeds to United Way of the Coastal Empire, which will distribute 100% of the donations to Tybee residents through its call center 211.

On Wednesday, September 27, Tubby’s Tank House in Thunderbolt and Molly McGuire’s on Wilmington Island donated a portion of the day’s sales to United Way. The check in the amount of $5,000 was presented to United Way. An additional $832 was donated to United Way by patrons of the restaurant.

“As a family owned and operated business with deep roots in the Savannah community, it’s important to us to give back,” says Katie Murphy, marketing director of the Live Oak Restaurant Group. “We do what we can to support our community and the local non-profits because they support us with their business every day.”

“United Way helps local people right here in our community. We know families living on Tybee Island will be better off, thanks to the generosity of our friends and patrons of Live Oak Restaurant Group” said Gregg Schroeder, president and CEO of United Way of the Coastal Empire.

Anyone in need of assistance should contact 211 or 912.651.7730 to apply. United Way 211 is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.
